To keep compacted put cap on half way when crushing and do up when fully crushed
If you are saving the caps, just leave on for about 10 minutes and then take off and bottle will keep shape
For drink cans stand upright and pull down lever, squeeze the sides first makes it easier
The bottle crusher can be installed either outside or inside there maybe a small amount of surface rust due to metal against metal, but this will in no way effect the use of the bottle crusher
We find just touch out any effected areas with some hammeright or similar product and also put a small amount of vasiline or grease on the runners will aid the use
